Beautiful Dishes

As you have seen, we have been getting rid of somethings that we don't use or is trash. These dishes unfortunately fit into the "don't use" section. It breaks my heart to give them away but that is what we did today....

Shocker!

Today Jason let me throw his shoes away. I have been trying to throw them away almost since we started dating. He has had them for over 10 years, and even we when they were new they weren't stylish.... Ok, so I am not being materialistic but really, they are falling apart and ugly.

Anyway, I am really proud of him for letting me throw them away.

Tired Little Buddy

After watching us clean all day yesterday, Mosey is exhausted. Little does he know we aren't done.....

Spring Cleaning....?

So it isn't exactly Spring, but Jason and I decided to clean out the garage today. There was so much stuff in there that we had a hard time getting out of our car when we needed to. We went through everything and this is the pile of trash halfway through our cleaning. It feels pretty good!

Merry Christmas!

Usually we open presents on Christmas Eve but since Jason was working last night, we opened them this morning. I am not sure why we don't have any pictures of the actual opening of the presents... But we do have a couple pictures of Mosey eating his gift. :] Himself.

Merry Christmas Eve!

It is Christmas Eve! Jason is going to be working in the Emergency Room until 11pm tonight. Jesse and Louisa took pity on me so I am headed over to their house for Christmas Eve dinner right now. Here is a picture of our lovely tree.

Day Before Christmas Eve

I can't believe it is almost Christmas! Time really flies when you have to work right up until the holiday. I have to work a half day tomorrow.... Man, I miss being a students sometimes...

Here are some of the cookies I did last night. Ok, can you find Mosey in this picture?

Starting to decorate!

Well, I finally started to decorate the gingerbread boys. What is the big deal you wonder? Well, we don't just decorate gingerbread boys like regular people, we REALLY decorate them. Here is one of my first finished cookies.

King's Canyon National Park!

Jason, Jesse, Louisa and I decided to go on a little trip this weekend to celebrate Jason's completion of his surgery rotation and just to get away. We rented a cabin right outside King's Canyon National Park. We got a special deal because of the economy apparently. :] As you can see, the view from the house is amazing!! Jason took some great shots this morning as the sun was coming up.

Then it was off the park. We climbed through a log,

and hiked toward the National Christmas tree, General Grant. As you can see, it doesn't really look very Christmas tree like, it is just big and famous. Here is Jason and I standing on a fence to seem big like the tree.

Here is Jason accidentally pushing me off the fence.

While I was on the fence by myself, I was pelted by a snowball to try to get me to fall off.

That wasn't very nice.... :] It wasn't snowing but we threw some snow in the air so that it felt like it was snowing.

After that, we took the dogs running in the snow. It was pretty difficult for their short legs but they managed alright.

We sledded and drove around and then headed home where Louisa fixed us some Indian food and we played games until we felt like going to bed. What a great day!

WARNING! GRAPHIC PHOTO BELOW!

I hope you aren't squeamish. Because if you are, you aren't going to like what happened to my metal reindeer today. I picked it up, and its leg fell off!

I feel like calling Pottery Barn and giving them a piece of my mind! And I can't imagine how my reindeer feels!....

The Crystal Cathedral

Today a student and I went to a Christmas pageant at the Crystal Cathedral. The pastor of the Japanese SDA church got us discount tickets and we went! I had never been to the Crystal Cathedral, which is so named because it is mostly made from clear glass. Here is Harry (mean parents to name their girl that) gesturing to the beauty that is the cathedral.

Here I am posing.

It was a good show! Very visually stunning as you can see from this picture.

The cutest part was the 3 year old's solo. I can't imagine having the guts -or the voice- to do that at that age.

Car Trouble

My mom's truck broke down near LA today. I just happened to be in the area doing a lia sophia party so I was able to go rescue her. It made it all the better that it was pouring out...

5 Dozen or so

We made a lot of gingerbread boys. But now we are so tired, that it will be hard to get up the energy to decorate them. I guess we will in a couple days.

Gingerbread Boys!

Our Christmas tradition is gingerbread boys! My mom has made them every Christmas that I remember.

This year, I am helping her. Gingerbread boys take a lot of work. First you have to knead the dough, then roll it out and cut it. Then you have to arrange the limbs and bake them.

When they are finished, you have to brush off the flour with a stiff brush and decorate them.

The best part is eating them. But now that I know how much work it takes, I start looking at every cookie in terms of how long it took me to make it.... so they aren't as carefree to eat anymore. Pierre was determined to stay at our feet in case any crumbs fell to the floor,

and Mosey was depressed because he lost his playmate...

Artichokes

We had Jesse and Louisa over for artichokes tonight. Mosey got tired of watching me cook.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

Afterward, Mosey snuggled with Jason

and the rest of us sang worship songs!

My First Paraffin

Today I got a paraffin wax pedicure. It was really nice! The wax was all warm but it peeled off cleanly.

Very nice! I got red with two candy canes on each big toe. It is the first time I have gotten a design on my nails.

My mom got a snowflake.

I should have gone with the snowflake....

Christmas Blessings

Today we had a Christmas talk from a local pastor. It was a good talk and I was happy to see some of my students come.

Mushroom Fettucini

I love Trader Joes because you can buy a frozen bag of pasta like this:

And in about 4 minutes it turns into something mouthwatering and gourmet. VERY good!

Decorated!

I started buying some ornaments here and there after last Christmas. Here is the final masterpiece.

Mosey has already begun trying to eat it. Here is a close up of it!

Kool Kactus

Today I went to eat with my mom at the Kool Kactus Kafe. We sat outside in the sun and ate.

This is a chile relleno burrito plate. It was delicious!

Netflix Woes

Godfather II has been sitting here for almost a month. I just need to find the energy and time to watch it....

The Outlander

My sister-in-law, Michelle, was kind enough to mail this book to me because she thought I would like it.

She was right! Can we say addicting? I can. I say it every morning around 2 o'clock when I finally keep my promise of, "This is the last chapter I am reading tonight!"

I am almost done. Thank goodness there are several more books in this series!
