Thanksgiving is over.....

Thanksgiving was over on Thursday but it feels more like it today because Michael and Navi left today and Jason had to work in the hospital all day. I got some free lounge pants at express the other day so I decided to lounge.

Mosey mostly lounged with me. He was tired after rough-housing with Michael all morning. I got some fun videos of it.

Fashion Island

Today we went to Fashion Island at Newport Beach. We didn't go early however, so there were some good deals but nothing spectacular. The best deal I got were some nice jeans for 50% off. Yay! We went to the pet store and I found some puggle puppies.

Not even CLOSE to as cute as Mosey was. But still adorable. :]

Preparing for Thanksgiving!

My brother and his girlfriend are coming down for Thanksgiving! So that means we have to prepare. We got a new vacuum cleaner because our old one smelled funny and was really messy. This new one is really cool!

Speechless...

Today while I was talking to a friend in the living room, I heard a crunching noise on the back porch. I figured that Mosey had gotten into something so I finished my conversation and went to take a look. The 'something' that Mosey had gotten into was a lightbulb package! He happily chewed up the lightbulb until I took it away from him!!!!

Bored

Mosey is really tired of waiting for Thanksgiving to come..... If only it would get here already!!!!!

Oak Glen

Today my mom and I went to Oak Glen. We try to go every year. This year, I bought this beautiful barrette. It is my pride and joy!!!

Spaghetti Factory!

I love the Spaghetti Factory! It is kind of a family tradition to go there. We are almost nerd like about it. We actually take a pen and cross off all the locations we have visited on the placemat. Today I went with my mom because Jason was on call. He missed out!

Thief!

Jason's bike was stolen yesterday! Here is the empty spot it left....

Very frustrating!

Comida

Tonight in Spanish class, we had a feast! My teacher made the best chile rellenos that I have ever tasted!! I was supposed to bring Spanish rice but I totally forgot. How horrible of me......!

Healthy Salad

Tonight I was in the mood for salad. Jason had already eaten so I made myself a big one. Mosey wanted a salad too. I figured it was healthy and not off my plate so why not, right?

Quantum of Solace

Tonight we went and saw the new James Bond movie. I really liked it. Afterward in the car, everybody started talking about the bad things and how disappointing the movie was. They had some good points but I wish I hadn't heard what they said. I would have enjoyed it more in my unobservant bliss.

Irony.....

Trouble does not live up to his name.

He is a peaceful, phlegmatic, loving sort of dog. Likewise, Mosey does not live up to what his name implies.

I think it would be best if the dogs exchanged names.....

Sea of Flowers

I was browsing through the garden center at Lowe's when I came across this display. I thought it was so pretty that I had to take a bunch of pictures. Maybe istock will take some of them....

Hippie Day

Today was Hippie Day at school! I didn't wear my vintage hippie dress because I don't fit into it any more. But I found some of my clothes that would work.

Nobody was confused about my outfit today! Go figure....

80's Day

Today was 80's day at school. I chose to go the 'early 80's professional woman' route and ended up confusing a lot of people. I swear, I am the only one who always wears authentic period clothes and also the only one that people think isn't dressing up....

A Glimpse

Here is Jason in the same position I find him in nearly everyday. Chips and salsa in hand, in front of the computer.

Hmmm, that is making me hungry!

Our tomato plants are doing well after their first pruning. I hope they give us a lot of fruit this time.

I got some new jewelry! Yay for lia sophia!

Lia Sophia Meeting

Every month, I am supposed to go to my manager's house for a Lia Sophia Meeting. Today was my first meeting. Basically, we met and talked about last month's parties and if there were any problems, we talked about ways to fix them. We snacked on really good food too!

Then it was time for recognition. Each manager gave a prize to the advisor who had sold the most that month. Then they had a raffle that you got to participate in just for showing up. I won a bag of supplies. Which is great because now I don't have to buy them.

It was really fun. I wish all 'meetings' were like that.

New Clothes and Lia Sophia

Target has some really cute dog clothes. Mosey doesn't really need clothes because he lives in Southern California. But I was tempted nonetheless.

Can't say that Mosey really appreciated my spending hard earned money on him.

Today, I also had my very first Lia Sophia Party. Here is the hostess Rebeca with my jewelry on display.

I was pretty nervous at first but it went really well. It was pretty easy actually. I booked another party at Rebeca's party so along with my previously booked parties, I am in good shape for December.

Point Dume

This weekend, Jason's dad and step-mother visited us! We have had fun going out to eat and hanging out. Today we went to Point Dume in Malibu. It is a great place to hike around, walk on the beach and spot dolphins. We didn't see an dolphins but we did see a seal or two!

Here is a really pretty cove that we were able to see from the trail. Maybe next time we go to the beach, we will have to hang out at this cove.

A lot of fun!

The Frigid November Air...

Yum!

Ginger gave me some of this greek strained yogurt when I visited her in Boston. I am now practically addicted! I usually don't like plain yogurt, but I put agave nectar on it, on Ginger's advice, and it is delicious! Even Jason likes it.

Mr. President

I spent most of today flying home from Boston. I was worried about traveling today because I really wanted to vote. So I mailed in a ballot. Probably didn't get counted...

In Denver, I was able to see CNN call a state for Obama, even though zero percent of the counties were reporting. But it was Vermont so they were pretty sure. :] When I got home, McCain was making his very moving and gracious concession speech.

I went to bed before listening to Obama's victory speech. I have to work tomorrow! :]

Newport, Rhode Island

Today Ginger and I quasi fulfilled a dream we have both had for a long time. We went and toured one of the Newport Mansions in Newport, RI. I say quasi because our dream was actually to tour all the mansions. However, we only had time to tour one, The Breakers.

For those of you who aren't up on Gilded Age history (I wasn't really either), Newport RI is where many of the notorious rich families built their summer cottages. These rich families I am referring to are: the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Astors, etc. Anyway, we toured ONE OF THE Vanderbilt's summer 'cottages'.

Our tour guide talked in such an obvious 'tour guide' voice that I thought she was joking. We were also the last tour of the day and it was apparrent from her impatience at any semblence of interest we had in anything other than what that she was showing us, that she wanted to get home to her 35 cats. Here is the one picture she let us take inside....a picture of the outside. :] Here is the view from the second floor.
The inside was extremely ornate. So much so that I wondered what they did here during the summer. Not making sand castles and tree forts apparently. Here is the outside of The Breakers as we were leaving.

I was getting dark but Ginger and I didn't want to give up. We drove around the whole peninsula trying to shine our brights at the nice houses. I am sure the residents appreciated that....
