Today I used my hot rollers for the first time. They turned out a lot better than the damp bun idea. But I still need to find a way to get them to stay in for longer than 4 hours.
What was the big occasion? I was taking some of my new students to the LA county fair! Yay! Here we are on the shuttle into the fairgrounds.
I decided to take this trip to the fair seriously. I was determined to eat all the fair food I wanted without looking at the price, or the nutritional facts. I passed by the loaf of bread sized turkey legs (well, obviously, since I am a vegetarian) and went straight for the roasted corn. Then I attacked the funnel cake booth. I was very excited about the funnel cake. Only one student decided to buy a funnel cake with me. She LOVED it! Which I was happy about since it cost so much and she was spending that money solely on my recommendation. When one of the other students found out how much it had cost she gasped, "That is how much I paid for my hat!" The one who was enjoying her funnel cake quickly came back with, "Yes, and I would rather have this cake than that hat!" A woman after my own heart. :]
After looking at some animals and roasting in the sun, I went for my last treat which was a giant, dipped ice cream cone. It was good but a little too much. I felt sickly for the rest of the day and debated whether I should buy another roasted corn to balance the sickly sweetness. I didn't.
'Twas fun.
I am surprised you didn't eat a whole head of broccolli after that! Mahi
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the hair thing. When I had long hair I could never get them to stay in, either. Let me know if you figure it out. I'm considering growing my hair out for the first time since high school.
