Today Jason let me throw his shoes away. I have been trying to throw them away almost since we started dating. He has had them for over 10 years, and even we when they were new they weren't stylish.... Ok, so I am not being materialistic but really, they are falling apart and ugly.
Anyway, I am really proud of him for letting me throw them away.
That is a real step. I've had to do the same thing with some of Tim's old things...just wait a decent amount of time...or hide them away until he realizes he doesn't really need them...then jump in for the kill. :) Kudos.
ReplyDeleteWOW! This is AMAZING! I know how bad you've wanted to do this for the LONGEST time! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteMahi
I have refused to even TRY to throw things away that are Jason's...though I do encourage giving them to second-hand stores. :) I think it's from my childhood when my mother would randomly throw things that belonged to me away because she didn't like them. They could be perfectly fine as far as quality goes, but she didn't like it, so into the garbage it went. I found a teddy bear of mine in the garbage once. So a residual effect is that I won't be one of those wives that throws away her husband's favourite t-shirt when he isn't looking.
ReplyDeleteBut congratulations to you for talking Jason into it. :) I'm proud of you for not just doing it when he had his back turned.
